HPR 592 - Therapeutic Rehabilitation

Prerequisite(s): This course is for Athletic Training Majors ONLY. In order to register for this course, you must have earned a grade of C or better in: HPR 591/HPR 591L, HPR 571/HPR 571L, HPR 585, HPR 554L. Corequisite(s): HPR 592L. In this course, students will gain knowledge pertaining to the physiology of trauma and the subsequent effects on tissues as the basis for rehabilitation. Students will also learn various techniques of therapeutic exercise, planning rehabilitation programs and manual muscle therapy. This course includes a laboratory experience where students will develop hands-on skills necessary to perform rehabilitative techniques and prescribe rehabilitative exercises used in rehabilitation following athletic injuries.
