HPR 585 - Research Design and Statistics

Prerequisite(s): This course is for Athletic Training Majors ONLY. In order to register for this course, you must have earned a grade of C or better in: HPR 502, KIN 831/KIN 831L, and HPR 503. The main purpose of this course is to introduce students to quantitative and qualitative methods for conducting meaningful inquiry and research in sports medicine. Students will gain an overview of research intent and design, methodology and technique, data management and analysis, and evaluation and dissemination of findings informed by commonly used statistical methods. Students are expected to begin planning their thesis/research project, which will culminate in their Research Capstone course.
