Music Theory Graduate Minor

Graduate Students must consult with the Coordinator of Graduate Studies before adding any minor to their degree program.

Campus: Hattiesburg

Master’s Music Theory Minor (9 hours)

Students enrolled in the Music MM program may declare a minor in Music Theory by completing 9 hours beyond the required hours for the MM.

Requirements:

MUS 711 - Pedagogy of Theory 3 hrs.
MUS 713 - Seminar in Music Theory 3 hrs.
3 credit hours at the 600-level or higher in Music Theory or Composition

Doctoral Music Theory Minor (12 hours)

Students enrolled in the Performance DMA program may declare a minor in Music Theory by completing 12 hours beyond the required hours for the DMA.

Requirements:

MUS 711 - Pedagogy of Theory 3 hrs.
MUS 713 - Seminar in Music Theory 3 hrs.
6 credit hours at the 600-level or higher in Music Theory or Composition
