The Marketing Analytics (MA) undergraduate certificate program at The University of Southern Mississippi is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required to thrive in the dynamic marketing field in the digital age. Marketing analytics is becoming increasingly relevant across nearly all industries as organizations strive to make data-driven decisions and gain a competitive advantage in the market. Students can expect to gain a deep understanding of data-driven marketing strategies and hands-on experience through this program by harnessing the power of data analytics to make informed marketing decisions, optimize marketing campaigns, and improve overall business performance.
Additional Academic Policies & Requirements
The Marketing Analytics certificate program requires at least twelve (12) hours of undergraduate coursework. The four-course certificate requires MKT 434 Marketing Analytics, MIS 340 Data Visualization, and two relevant electives. Once admitted to the program, MA students will meet with the marketing academic advisor to plan their courses.

- Students must receive no lower than a “C” and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA in the certificate courses.
- Students may request a waiver of prerequisite requirements based on industry experience. Such a waiver requires director approval.
- Sophomore standing with a minimum of 30 credit hours is the prerequisite for MKT 300.
- MKT 300 is the prerequisite for MKT 392, MKT 424, MKT 434, and LDR 410.
- MKT 300 with a grade no lower than a C and consent of the director are the perquisites for MKT 392.
- MKT 300 or MER 300 is the prerequisite for MER 438 and MER 478.
- MKT 300 or HTM 300 is the prerequisite for HTM 444 and HTM 494
- MIS 300 and BA 260 are the prerequisites for MIS 340 and BA 345.
- BA 260 is the prerequisite for LDR 330 and LDR 410.
- MKT 365 and MKT 424 are the prerequisites for MKT 480.
