Information Technology Minor

The Information Technology minor is designed to provide students with skills development to design, implement, and maintain interconnected computer systems.

Requirements for a Minor

The requirements for a minor in information technology are to complete 18 hours including

ITC 102 - Systems Architecture 2 hrs. AND
ITC 102L - Systems Architecture Laboratory 1 hr.
ITC 131 - Internetworking Technologies 2 hrs. AND
ITC 131L - Internetworking Technologies Laboratory 1 hr.
ITC 171 - Linux Fundamentals 2 hrs. AND
ITC 171L - Linux Fundamentals Laboratory 1 hr.
or
ITC 283 - Client Installation and Administration 3 hrs.

Take one approved course sequence (9 hrs.):

Sequence 1:

ITC 132 - Introduction to Routers 2 hrs. AND
ITC 132L - Introduction to Routers Laboratory 1 hr.
ITC 231 - Routing and Switching 2 hrs. AND
ITC 231L - Routing and Switching Laboratory 1 hr.
ITC 341 - Information Assurance and Security 3 hrs.

Sequence 2:

ITC 285 - Server Administration 3 hrs.
ITC 385 - Advanced Server Administration 3 hrs.
ITC 489 - Internet Information Server 3 hrs. or
CSC 489 - Web Application Security 3 hrs.
