Business Administration Minor

The business administration minor is exclusively available to non-business students aiming to bolster their understanding of the business world. This minor provides a valuable toolkit of knowledge and skills, allowing you to delve into essential business concepts, encompassing areas such as accounting, marketing, and management.

Fifty percent of the minor courses must be taken at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Course Requirements

Nonbusiness students minoring in business administration must complete 18 hours as follows:

ACC 200 - Introduction to Financial Accounting 3 hrs.
MGT 300 - Management for Organizations 3 hrs.
MKT 300 - Principles of Marketing 3 hrs.

Choose 3 courses:

BA 200 - The Legal Environment of Business 3 hrs. (strongly recommended)
ACC 220 - Introduction to Managerial Accounting 3 hrs.
MIS 300 - Management Information Systems 3 hrs.
ECO 201 - Principles of Macroeconomics 3 hrs.
ECO 202 - Principles of Microeconomics 3 hrs.
FIN 200 - Personal Finance 3 hrs.
HTM 300 - Principles of Hospitality and Tourism Management 3 hrs.
MER 300 - Principles of Merchandising 3 hrs.
FIN 332 - Real Estate Principles 3 hrs.
