Advanced Design & Technology Electives (9 hours)
Select 9 hours in area of interest, approved by advisor: Scenery, Lighting, & Sound
Theatre Electives Requirement (12 hours)
- Select 12 hours of other THE courses (excluding THE 100 and THE 110 ), approved by advisor. ART 101 , ART 102 , ART 111 , ART 112 , ART 113 are acceptable and recommended as Theatre electives for this degree plan. Transfer credits with Theatre prefix as described in the Articulation Agreement are acceptable in this category.
Theatre Practicum Requirement
Students must enroll in 2 hours of Practicum each semester in residence. The faculty will make final assignments based on student skills and program needs from the following:

Hours to Degree
124 hours are needed to graduate with a BFA in Theatre with an emphasis in Design and Technology. Of the total hours applied to this degree, 30 hours must be in courses numbered at the 300 level or above. The student must earn at least 21 of the last 30 hours of course work and at least 36 hours in the major area of study from Southern Miss. See Residence Hour Requirements for more information. The BFA requires at least three seemsters of residency after acceptance into the degree plan through portfolio, review/audition, interview, and review of record.
