3 hrs. This introductory, field-oriented ornithology course will consist of a series of lectures, laboratory exercises, and field trips to introduce students to the birdlife of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Students will develop an understanding of the basics of avian biology/ecology and field identification of birds. The focus of this course will be on the behavioral and ecological aspects of the avifauna found along the northern Gulf Coast.
