ANT 301 - History of Anthropology

Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 and ENG 102 This writing intensive course examines the development of the four subfields of anthropology from the 19th century to the present. Particular attention is paid to the interrelationships among the four sub-disciplines and to the socio-cultural contexts of their development. The course provides a broad foundation for the student to benefit maximally from the capstone course (ANT 401). Students will complete a 15-20 page research paper on an agreed-upon topic and present their findings to the class.
