TSL 420 - TESOL Professionalism and Advocacy

This course provides a context for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) both within the United States and overseas. In particular, it focuses on the power dynamics that are involved when teaching English and the implications these dynamics can have for students and teachers. It will also delve into the special considerations teachers must have when working with refugees and immigrants who have experienced trauma and students who have special needs, while providing a framework for advocacy for all English learners (ELs).
