3-6 hrs. Prerequisite(s): prior arrangements for evaluation and receipt of credit. Credit will be granted for systematic study of the language and culture of the language and literature of a foreign area. Study must be under the direction of a recognized teaching institution approved in advance by the Department of Foreign Languages; the department will examine and grade the progress and achievement of the participants in this program before granting credit.
