Allied Health, B.S. Degree Requirements (124 hours)

Available only to associate degree allied health graduates.

(62 hours may be transferred toward the baccalaureate degree.)

Program Curriculum

DEG 03. Electives (44-47 hours)


Choose electives as needed for graduation. Students must meet minimum total hours required for graduation (this varies with degree selection) with at least 45 hrs. of 300/400 level courses. Electives for Allied Health may be technical electives transferred from community college or advisor-approved electives at Southern Miss. Electives at Southern Miss must be 300/400 level courses. Students are encouraged to select a minor in consultation with their advisor.

Notes:


Cumulative GPA of 2.5 to be admitted into the program.
Cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required before taking any DPH course 300/400 level (Except DPH 430  and DPH 436 ).
Grade of C or better in all program curriculum.

Hours to Degree


124 hours are needed to graduate with a BS in Allied Health. At least 50 percent of the hours applied to a degree at The University of Southern Mississippi must be earned from a senior college, and 45 of these hours must be in courses numbered 300 or above. The student must earn at least 21 of the last 30 hours of course work and at least 12 hours in the major area of study from Southern Miss. See Residence Hour Requirements  for more information.
