The School of Education is committed to exemplary teaching, excellence in research, and meaningful service that advances professional knowledge and practice so that individuals are empowered to transform the human condition.

The school offers an undergraduate degree in elementary education and a minor in special education. Included is a distinctive, online pathway for Teacher Assistants who wish to earn an undergraduate degree in elementary education and an optional residency pathway for students interested in a yearlong, field-based placement with partner school districts.

Our teacher education programs include field-based experiences, such as practica and student teaching, that give students opportunities to practice and improve their teaching.

The school also offers graduate-level, alternate route master’s programs in both elementary education and secondary education for those who did not choose a teacher licensure program at the undergraduate level.

Our programs are nationally accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
