Drawing Undergraduate Minor

The Drawing Minor teaches students an understanding of the expressive and investigative possibilities of the two-dimensional, formal plastic art of drawing. In beginning classes, students learn skills in mark making, use of materials, approaches to form, and two-dimensional composition. At the upper level, teaching is done by a two-dimensional, visual form problem-solving method using traditional materials on a planar surface to produce visual artwork. An open and ongoing dialog about drawing and visual aesthetics is done in both group and individual (one-on-one student/faculty) criticism sessions.
Academic Policies and Requirements for Minors:
- Art majors (BFA Graphic Design and Art BA) should consult with their advisor to ensure they take enough required art courses to comply with the University policy on shared hours between major and minor requirements.
- See University Academic Policies for Minors
Hours to Minor: 21 hours.
