The Crime Scene Investigation BS major equips students with a strong foundation in various forensic science disciplines preparing them for forensic science field work in crime scene investigations, evidence management, death investigations and more. Students develop essential skills in identification and documentation of physical evidence, evidence collection and preservation, and understanding various laboratory analyses. Throughout their studies, students will complete coursework in areas such as crime scene documentation, fingerprint analysis, forensic science quality management, forensic photography, courtroom testimony, forensic anthropology, and footwear analysis, among others. This program emphasizes the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with oral and written communication skills, highlighting the importance of effectively communicating forensic principles to jurors within a legal context. Additionally, it provides a solid foundation for students interested in pursuing higher education or other professional opportunities in law enforcement.
