Recreational Therapy Minor


Recreational therapy is a health care profession that uses recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the needs of individuals with illnesses and other disabling conditions.The purpose of a minor in recreational therapy is to introduce students to concepts of recreation and leisure that form a foundation in the profession, the philosophies governing activty-based treatment, a working knowledge of recreational therapy as a profession, and an opportunity to develop basic programming and leadership skills.

Students must achieve a grade of “C” or higher in each course taken for the minor.
