Psychology (Brain and Behavior) PhD


Overview


The Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology with an emphasis in Brain and Behavior is for those who are planning careers as researchers and educators in academic settings and researchers in nonacademic settings. All students are expected to (1) gain understanding of the fundamental areas of psychology (2) acquire a high level of sophistication in statistics, experimental design, data analysis, psychological measurement and quantitative methods, and (3) gain expertise and conduct research in a specialized area of study.

Admission Requirements


In addition to the requirements detailed in Admission Requirements and Procedures , applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Statement of Purpose - Refer to the instructions found in the online application. 
  2. CV/Résumé
  3. Three Letters of Recommendation

New students are admitted only for the fall semester. Reviews of completed applications will begin on December 31 and applications will continue to be accepted until March 1. A student may be invited to come to campus for a personal interview as part of the application process.
