Personal Finance Certificate


Most people lack the understanding and knowledge to accurately develop their own long-term financial plans. Understanding the language of finance and real estate is essential for an ability to financially plan for individuals to get the most of out their money for the long run. Therefore, Personal Finance Certificate covers financial analysis, real estate principle, and planning, and personal finance.

Academic Policies and Requirements for Certificates:

University Requirements:

  • A maximum of 3 hours of transfer credit may be used to satisfy certificate requirements.
  • No grade below C will be acceptable for certificate courses.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.500 is required for certificate course work.
  • At least 50 percent of the hours required for a certificate should be outside the DEG01 requirements of the student’s undergraduate major.   

Hours to Certificate: 12 hours

FIN 300  is a prerequisite for FIN 392 . ACC 200  with a grade of C or b etter is a prerequisite for FIN 380
