Nursing Education Graduate Certificate

Overview

The Nursing Education Graduate Certificate (NEGC) is a 18-hour graduate certificate program that will prepare nurses to be proficient in curriculum development, quality course development, lesson plan development, and instruction in healthcare and academic settings. The NEGC will be delivered in the online format to allow flexibility for the professional nurse.

Program Requirements and Academic Policies

The applicant must hold a baccalaureate, master’s, or doctorate in nursing degree from an institution approved by a recognized accrediting agency. 

The applicant must hold an unencumbered registered nurse license.

Course Requirements (18 hours)

• NUR 601 - Theory Development in Nursing 3 hrs.
• NUR 610 - Assessment and Evaluation in Nursing Education 3 hrs.
• NUR 611 - Curriculum and Teaching in Nursing 3 hrs.
• NUR 678 - Role in Teaching 3 hrs.
• NUR 678L - Teaching Practicum 3 hrs.
• NUR 827 - Structure and Governance in Higher Education 3 hrs.
