The goal of the Casino Management Certificate is to develop proficiencies in casino resort operations management. The certificate program is designed for business/non-major students interested in casino resort management careers, gaming professionals seeking professional development opportunities, hospitality and tourism professionals, and educators seeking to re-skill and expand their knowledge in casino resort management. Up to fifty percent of the certificate course credits can be applied toward the B.S.B.A. in Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM), business electives for the General Business Administration major, and electives for other College of Business degree programs.

Endorsed by the Mississippi Casino Operators Association, the certificate features a business-education partnership instructional model, iPASS® (Industry Professionals Assistance in Student Success). The instructional approach is hi-touch with live video conferencing interaction, project mentoring, and guest lectures by casino executives affiliated with major gaming corporations such as Caesars/Harrah’s Entertainment, MGM Resorts International, Penn National Gaming, Boyd Gaming Corporation, Ameristar, and more. Participants enjoy interactive and synergistic learning through discussion boards and communications with instructors and peers through social media technology.
