Nutrition and Food Systems (Applied Nutrition and Food Systems) MS

Overview

The Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Systems, Applied Nutrition and Food Systems emphasis, is fully online and offers graduates opportunities to pursue careers in dietetics, school food service, child nutrition program management, food and nutrition services management, and community nutrition. The curriculum provides students with an understanding of research design and advanced knowledge in applied nutrition and/or food systems management.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the requirements detailed in Admissions Requirements and Procedures , applicants must submit the following documents:

1. Official GRE scores
2. Statement of Purpose
3. Résumé
4. Three Letters of Recommendation

Course Requirements (33 hours)

• NFS Advisor Approved Electives 15 hrs. 

•  

• NFS 692 - Special Problems in Nutrition 1-4 hrs. (3 hrs. required) or
• NFS 698 - Thesis 1-6 hrs. (6 hrs. required)

• NFS 703 - Research Techniques for Nutrition and Food Systems 3 hrs.

• DPH 623 - Biostatistics 3 hrs. or
• REF 602 - Introduction to Educational Statistics 3 hrs.

• Advisor Approved Directed Electives (6-9 hrs.)
