Sport Management (Sports Event Security Management), M.S.

This master’s degree program is designed to equip current and future sports and special event managers with the specialized knowledge and skills needed to meet the evolving challenges of safety and security in a sports environment. The goal of this program is to promote sport security awareness.

This master’s degree program is available fully online, in the classroom, or a combination of online and traditional courses.

In addition to meeting the degree requirements for the MSM program, students pursuing the emphasis area in Sports Event Security Management take the following 3 directed electives: SM 620 , SM 626 , and SM 628 

A 9-hour emphasis in sports event security management is offered for those who wish to develop specific skills and expertise in homeland defense and security in a sport environment. SM 620 , SM 626 , and SM 628  are required for this emphasis.
