♦ This major requires the selection of a sequence to fulfill the GEC Science Requirement.

Students who choose BSC 110 /BSC 110L  and BSC 111 /BSC 111L  can choose either BSC 380 /BSC 380L  or BSC 381 /BSC 381L .

Students who choose BSC 250 /BSC 250L  and BSC 251 /BSC 251L  must choose BSC 381 /BSC 381L .

BSC 110 /BSC 110L  and BSC 111 /BSC 111L  must be taken as a sequence.

BSC 250 /BSC 250L  and BSC 251 /BSC 251L  must be taken as a sequence.

Hours to Degree


124 hours are needed to graduate with a BS in Medical Laboratory Science. At least 50 percent of the hours applied to a degree at The University of Southern Mississippi must be earned from a senior college, and 45 of these hours must be in courses numbered 300 or above. The student must earn at least 21 of the last 30 hours of course work and at least 12 hours in the major area of study from Southern Miss. See Residence Hour Requirements  for more information.
