Physical Education Minor

Requirements for a Minor

All students pursuing a Mississippi add-on endorsement in physical education to their secondary education standard licensure must complete 21 hours in human performance courses with no grade lower than a “C”.

All students pursuing a minor in physical education must complete 21 hours with a grade of C or better. Please note that a minor alone in PE does not allow licensure. Only those individuals holding a standard license can use a minor for a Mississippi add-on endorsement. The following courses are required:

• KIN 109 - First Aid 2 hrs.
• KIN 303 - Evaluation in Human Performance and Recreation 3 hrs.
• KIN 318 - Foundations of Teaching Physical Education 3 hrs.
• KIN 321 - Elementary Physical Education 3 hrs.
• KIN 333 - Secondary Physical Education 3 hrs.
• KIN 401 - Corrective and Adaptive Physical Education 3 hrs.
• KIN 404 - Motor Development 3 hrs.
