The School of Education prepares educators, higher education professionals, and researchers. The school also manages field placement, teacher candidacy (also known as student teaching), and graduate administrative internships for all educational licensure programs at the University.

The school offers undergraduate degrees in elementary and special education teacher education.  The school also offers graduate secondary alternate route pathway to certification and Master of Art in Teaching programs.  Graduate programs in educational administration are available for those who aspire to be leaders in kindergarten-12th grade settings.  Numerous field-based experiences (i.e., practica, teacher candidacy, and administrative internships), built upon reflective practice, are provided throughout the programs.

Our programs are nationally accredited through the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and are nationally recognized by the Council for Exceptional Children (special education) and the Association for Childhood Education International (elementary education) specialized professional association accreditation bodies.
