Overview


The Master of Education in Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs Administration is a 36-hour program, offered both online and on the Hattiesburg campus, designed to meet the professional needs of individuals who seek careers in the field of student affairs at the collegiate level. This degree provides students with an understanding of the theory, research, and practice of student affairs, student development theory, cultural diversity among students, and current issues and trends in student affairs administration. A hallmark of the program is its integration of academic coursework with practical field experiences in a variety of student affairs settings designed to prepare graduates as competent student affairs professionals.

Admission Requirements


In addition to the requirements detailed in Admission Requirements and Procedures , applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Statement of Purpose - In a letter or essay format, describe your professional experiences and goals and how obtaining this degree will help you to realize those goals.
  2. CV/Résumé
  3. Three Letters of Recommendation

This program admits new students each fall term. The application priority deadline is April 15. Members of underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
