The Master of Science in Counseling Psychology is accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC) and maintains a mission to provide the knowledge, dispositions, and skills necessary for students to become competent professional counselors and/or seek further graduate study. The program provides training in the foundations required of proficient consumers of psychological science. As such, we train students to utilize the science of psychology to inform sound diagnostic and evidence-based interventions consistent with the philosophical underpinnings of Counseling Psychology in serving their clients, community, and the profession. Students completing the M.S. degree in Counseling Psychology will be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Mississippi. Students who intend to seek licensure in another state should verify that this program of study meets the desired state's licensure requirements. Three Letters of Recommendation
New students are admitted each fall semester. Applications received by March 1 each year will receive a full review for the following fall cohort. A student may be invited to come to campus for a personal interview as part of the application process.
