Requirements for a Minor

The minor in women’s and gender studies requires 18 hours. All students must complete Women’s and Gender Studies WGS 301 - Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies . The remaining hours must be distributed among at least three disciplines. The following are approved for women’s and gender studies credit in every semester in which they are taught:

HIS 328 - Ancient and Medieval Women 3 hrs. (cross listed as WGS 310 )
HIS 477 - Women in American Society 3 hrs. (cross listed as WGS 410 )
PS 405 - Women and Politics 3 hrs. (cross listed as WGS 420 )

Special topics courses in various disciplines will be approved for credit on a semester-by-semester basis, and more regular courses will be added as they are developed. Students should be advised by the program director each semester.
