HUM 201 - Colloquium on the Pre-Modern World

3 hrs.
The course examines two or three distinct pre-modern global cultures of enduring significance from the perspective of history, literature, philosophy and religion. (Topics may change each semester). The focus will be on the influence of history, literature, philosophy, and religion on each other. Since the material available is so vast, the course is taught thematically in these distinct global (both Western and non-Western) cultural contexts.
